We all have a relationship with food. Maybe it’s respectful. Maybe it’s filled with awe, or fear. No matter how you feel about food, you would probably acknowledge that food has power. Inspired Eating, my approach to food coaching, is a system of health and nutrition that recognizes that power of food, and helps you understand how to use it to inspire you on many levels.
Most nutrition plans tell you what to eat. We'll do things a little differently; we'll talk about what you eat as well as why you eat. The fact is, diets and rules won't work if you're ignoring the underlying issues, the mental and emotional sides of eating.
Why do any of us overeat, or eat the wrong things? It's usually because we're short on time, overwhelmed with responsibilities, burdened with painful emotions, or longing for connection. Most of the time, when we're craving cookies, we're really hungry for love, sex, friendship, peace, a sense of meaning or purpose.
